Issue: On certain vehicles, a software problem could cause the rearview camera image to not appear on the display screen. Canadian regulations require the rearview image to display when the vehicle is reversing. Safety Risk: A rearview camera image that doesn't display could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Mitsubishi will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the display software.

On certain vehicles, an issue in the software that manages the brake system Hydraulic Unit may allow it to reset without warning and could cause some vehicle features to malfunction. If this were to occur while driving, the following features may be affected: automatic braking (if Automatic Cruise Control (ACC) and/or Forward Collision Mitigation (FCM) is in operation), Antilock Braking System (ABS), Active Stability Control (ASC), Brake Auto Hold (BAH). If these systems malfunction, there could be an increased risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will update the Hydraulic Unit control software.

On certain vehicles, an issue in the software used by the Electronic Control Unit responsible for managing the Forward Collision Mitigation (FCM) feature may cause it to not operate as intended alerting the driver to brake unnecessarily in certain situations. If the driver attempts to brake while FCM is also activating, the vehicle may decelerate rapidly. This could create a situation where another motorist does not anticipate a preceding vehicle’s sudden brake application or stop, creating the risk of a rear-end collision causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will update the software for the Forward Collision Mitigation system.
